Care:
The lack of fur does not make the Sphynx a low maintance cat. The skin of the cat still secret's oil's to nourish the non-existent coat and frequent bath's are essential, usually once a week or so. They also need a weekly ear cleaning. Their ear's are so large the collect all of the dust in the air. Sphynx also need to be kept in a warm enviroment. You can also keep them warm with their own sweater's or an electric blanket. I get a lot of question's about allergies. Contary to what people believe Sphynx are not completely hypo-allergenic. These cat's still produce the protein to which allergic people react and shed it in their salvia and dander. The lack of hair and weekly bath may help to reduce the reaction in some people. It really just depend's how sensitive your allergies are. The best thing to do is come and spend some time with these wonderful cat's and see if you have a reaction.
